About the Founder Marrissa R. Dick, PhD

Hi, thank you for visiting my site to see what services I can offer you while simultaneously learning a little bit about me.  My name is Marrissa R. Dick, and I am the Founder and President of The Paperwork Guru 4 U, Inc., a woman’s minority owned organization that specializes in preparing nonprofit applications and paperwork for startup businesses.

I was indoctrinated into the nonprofit sector while working for Greensboro Education and Development Council, Inc., (GEDC), a United Way Grassroots agency. During that time, I served as the administrative assistant and also served on multiple United Way Allocation Panel Committees to award operational funding.  For over 35 years I have successfully prepared numerous 501(c)(3) applications and aided in the initial startup of nonprofit, for-profit businesses, churches, and community organizations.

In addition to my informal training, I received my Ph.D. in Educational Studies and Cultural Foundations with a Specialization in Cultural Studies and a minor in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I have a master’s degree in Adult Education with a Specialization in Training and Development from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, and I earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a Specialization in Business Management from Shaw University.

I am a serial entrepreneur. I formed another company, Nubian Romance Novels, and self-published five flavorful and tasteful African American “Contemporary” Christian “Sci-Fi” Romance Novels entitled, Angel Fire, Cousins, Deja Vu Desires, Letters, and Them’s Eve’s Daughters. I enjoy traveling to the Caribbean and actually desire to experience the world. My family and friends are very important to me and I enjoy spending quality time with them, in particular, my great nieces and great nephews who are a major part of my life. I am a servant leader in my church; I enjoy cooking and have been told by both family and friends that I am an amazing cook. As a matter of fact, most folk espouse, “Girl, you put your foot in this right here!” I am not much of a baker, but I do make a pretty tasty banana pudding, sweet potato pie, apple butter, peach cobbler, and a German Chocolate Cake all from scratch.
